IMG_4950.JPG i really don't want to believe I have to replace an egr cooler on a 2016 truck with 19k. Seen white smoke, dealer said coolant was low after last PM. I do not see any external leaks, but a radiator hose was replaced a few months back because it was leaking. Is cummins still having these issues? I thought I put this behind me after dumping the maxxforce. Pic is where the hose was leaking coolant before replacement.

EGR coolers are not perfect. They are 100% failure rate for pretty much every engine. The better ones just last longer. Yes, 19K is very disappointing, but this is what warranty is for. Chances are the engine was not properly filled with coolant during the last repair and there was an air pocket inside that caused a local hot spot with the cooler which led to a small crack forming.
