OK..Im confused as to what this dbm stuff does..I thought it was about noise, then range now im reading power..My 955 has it done by mark so wtf does it do..

Watch this video and I think you'll get the idea.

Craig, there is always a point that is missed in the CB world, here it is.
Sensitivity isn't the important number, it is one of a couple indicators needed to look at the preformance of a radio. Dynamic range is more important and so are a few others. Don't have time to get into it right now but I will try post something about them later.Snailexpress and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Dynamic range is something that Mark doesn't show on his videos but it's something I'm going to have measured at a Laboratory. That low noise floor is completely useless if you compromise the top end of the range of the AGC circuit. Lots of guys try to do modifications for better receive and quite often it comes at the expense of front end of overload in close proximity to strong signals such as a truck stop where somebody is running lots of power in the parking lot. Those numbers I threw up there are simply the generator output levels necessary to create an audible tone but the audible tone was not measured. So it's not exactly scientific. But I'll have a Lab look at it and give us some concrete numbers along with the dynamic range numbers.

A lab?
Seriously anyone with two signal generators can give an idea. But if someone can claim the noise floor results, they can also do simple dynamic range reading.Snailexpress, rabbiporkchop and bored silly Thank this. -
rabbi that's the anytone???

That's what it look like to me, and this will be my next purchase.bored silly and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Was planning to send it to Sherwood Engineering, but if you want to do the test you are more than welcome.
Figured an unbiased 3rd party would be the way to go -
Yes it is. It won't light up the inside of my vehicle like the Magnum. Nice mellow display that is easy to read at night without blinding me.bored silly Thanks this.
