moving down south to north carolina any good companies to lease to?

There ain't many good paying jobs around here. I would suggest taking a look at Raliegh instead of Wilmington. May have better opportunity up there.

 

Wilmington isn't bad for open deck. Not the best, but it's not like the middle of the rockies bad. If you are willing to switch to open deck id look into the normal players. Admiral merchant, bennett, landstar, mercer.

 

Trailer Transit pays 50% in advance on each run. Fuel costs should be a lot less since they pull empty trailers all over the nation.
Cardinal/Greatwide has accounts in North Carolina.

 

I hope he eats boogers and not bugs. Granted a lot of protein in Bugs, he might be a beast.

 

You really won't know the good companies until you go down and start digging. In the interm, start wih the big companies until you find the good small ones (note these are tanker or flatbed):
Kag
Altom
QC
Trimac
Admiral Merchants
Mercer
Longhaul trucking
There may be some companies running from norfolk south with containers but don't know
much about those rates.
Try googling drybulk companies in the area or chemical haulers- there are many good small outfits there.
At the least you can work for Norbet Trucking doing steel distribution ( I can give you the rate sheets I got when I asked a while back)
Maybe it's worth looking into ltl as a company guy

 

May want to check out Epes? When I was there the O/Os seemed happy. Not sure if Old Dominion are taking on any O/O on the container side ?

Old Dominion is a very sold company with great benefits . I worked for them a couple years while saving money to buy my truck . I would love to pull O/O with them but they got no need for that in my upper Midwest area. Maybe NC does.
