These guys are probably one of the worst outfits I've delivered to. Not only is their dock a joke to try to back into, but they take FOREVER to unload a trailer. Plus they don't tell the shipper that they don't do pallet exchange, so you'll end up eating the pallets too.

Been there, done that, many times, almost on a weekly basis during certain times of the year. There are times that a 379 Pete and a 53' trailer just don't seem worth it, LOL.

That place can be rough, but there are more than a few on that area that are like that.

So glad I don't haul produce, and don't go to Los Angeles anymore......

When is a 379 ever worth it? I'm just messing with you, I love how some Peterbilt owners swear that KW and Peterbilt aren't owned by the same company. I thought this thread was a joke, cause I was just watching star trek TNG with a borg episode.

LOL, the 379 was and is a nice highway truck, but they can turn into a nightmare sometimes at a dock. Right now I am in a KW T2000, waiting til we get some new 387 Petes in. The T2000 is much easier to back, that is for sure, but I don't really care for it on the highway.

And yes, Peterbilt and Kenworth share a lot of DNA :)

I'm in a T800 and have been for over 18 months now. I like it. It rides really well on the highway and is pretty good for maneuverability. Although I'd say it isn't a lot better than my W900 was.

As for Borg produce, since I don't speak Spanish, I wasn't assimilated... :)

I did get some "fell off the truck" hair clippers for $10, though. haha

Borg, Is a real problem !! The Biggest is that the receiver has only been there about 4 months and only cares about making a name for his self!!!! I sat for 3hrs and watched trucks come and go! I went in got my paper work and told him to "GO TO H---" I then called Broker and told him the same thing. After about 15 mins He called me back and had me into a door I could back into with out tearing up my 379.
Drivers when it comes to "Produce" show back bone and rasie alittle dust and trust me things will happen fast! That broker gets paid as soon as the last skid is off your wagon let him have alittle fear that he might have to wait one more day for his $$ and see how fast you get unloaded!!

Lmao, I thought the dispatch was a joke when i was told to pick up at borg produce. It was my second pick of 3, and when i pulled in and saw the docks i thought "resistance is futile"

anyway, i was terrified of the docks, it seemed like every other truck was moving every 3rd second, and i was in the way, and to top it all off, one of the trucks was broken down in the dock next to the one i was assigned. then right after i set up as best i can someone else backs into my dock.

at this point i am to confused to be angry, i am like "did i not hear the dock number right?" so i set the brake and wait ( i have noticed if u just relax and wait alot of things are solved without a trucker rampage) after a nice smoke, and listing to the radio for a few mins, and get out thinking i need to find out whats going on.
apparently they saw me coming back and relized that they was in the wrong dock , and moved their truck and waved me, in, one of them even watching my blindside for me.

anyway, i go in to witness load, and count, and lock it in, and find out( as it was not on my load assignment) that i am only picking one pallet up, at which i just shrugged, and winced, as if i had known that i would have carried the product to my truck myself, free of charge, just so i didnt have to back into that nitemare of a Dock

all in all, the place is bad to goto, but the people where nice, and much more helpful than normal, I didnt get a hostile impression, just an impression of people working very fast and hard in a confused situation, and the feeling that everybody there hated the building and docks
