WHY CAN'T WE DRIVERS STICK TOGETHER

I'm old enough to remember a nasty wildcat strike in I believe Ohio in 1970 give or take a few years. I just remember my father was caught up in it and I think some truckers we're hurt bad. Really bad time.

I might also add anybody thinking a total trucking strike will change things is living in a fools paradise. The reasons I say this don't translate well in a forum like this. Just know this. A starving child's parent won't say please Mr trucker go back to work. It is what it is.

 

I taught a new driver how to do a 90° back on Monday. City of industry and that was the only way he was getting in the dock. He had never done one before.

So yes, there are a few of us still out here trying to move the industry forward.

America is divided today, in all aspects. It's not just truck driving, it's the DNA of the nation now.

Look at groups that organize, and not to get political, but they are organized by the green. In 2008 there was the "occupy Wall Street" movements. But when you dig deeper, it was only organized by big money Western European ideologues. It was pushed through financial incentive. Notice how the party that pushed it the most, now has a candidate who's backed by all of Wall Street. So where are the "occupy Wall Street" protestors today? At home, because that group of political hacks pushing it are benefiting from Wall Street in this election cycle. No money, no movement.

The BLM movement is similar. Bought and paid for. When the cash pushing the movement dries up, so too will the professional protestors.

America moves on money today. The last genuine movement I recall was the tea party. Just simply people wanting a controlled government and fiscal responsibility. Where did they go? The CIA, FBI, and IRS went after them so hard you won't see it again.

It is what it is. And even thick in new to trucking, I understand that we are the same in all walks. Divided. For our own self and families. No one cares about the guy next door anymore.

 

The Tea Perty was bankrolled too, same as the others.

 

And why is that so different than welfare,certain people work and pay more taxes so that other certain people receive benefits

 

I see you been around as long as I. I started in 74. my dad started in the late 50`s. We still need unions, or wages will dive. They are already low, but in certain driving jobs, UPS is still over $32.00 hr. But these are top notch drivers, you screw up and you don't work there long.

 

Simple, true and to the point.

 

this is how it should be. those complaining of the trophy era #### sure don't look at employers fairly. want a great job? great money? great benefits? you better be a great employee. not whining about needing a union. unions are 100 years outdated and are a leech on hard workers. the high wages don't cover up the political ######## completely but only enough to make the majority look the other way. union worker says oh i can't and won't say ####, ill never get another job making this kind of money...there is your spineless.
