I disagree with your outcry of union members. Ill support all unions. If I were not union, I STILL can make top dollar. BECAUSE I have LOTS, LOTS, Of experience, AND IM #### GOOD AT IT.

you're the minority. i worked union jobs 14 years. it is my experience that 60% of the employees still had a job on the union, not their work ethic or aptitude. personal opinion, but i know i'm not alone.

I have a lot of time with the union, and All of us Have 30 - 45 years driving, and we only use the union for our retirement, and with unions these days that's not secure, but we will take it any way. Have a good friend , Worked at a Union job driving for 25 years, one day, a while back, goes in , and a HUGE chain and lock on gate. CLOSED permanently. He finds out, the owner never put in for his retirement, he was to receive $2500. a month. They go to court, he is now 64 years young, and get $300. per month. He was diabetic, went full insul. forced to retire, Soc. Sec, and $300. per month. His wife worked and still works and will have a good retirement , so they will do fine. Driving is what you make of it, do good, NO ACCIDENTS, NO INCIDENTS, NO TICKETS, you can make real good money.

Not saying these aren't Neat ideas...But,You sound like our union rep at GM KC Kansas. It"ll be hard pressed to happen. What pays $12 hour,OK I'll do it.Real problem is people taking "any job" ,cheap freight etc.Trucking is a cutthroat business.

This idea was tried in Florida not to long ago if I remember right. The news video floated around in the forums. Nice idea but those who still have mouths to feed will still accept low rates to keep from going under.

A while back I believe the shipping yards, had problems, and I think they are union, and they got together, and won everytime. They are real strong. It hit the news one day.
