A deal is a deal..I got $$ toed up with mark so im doin one or the other if i get a deal..Dont have to use it till my ant situation is settled..Im fustraited but determined to get it right..
-
Did you hear your old radio dominating the airwaves today?
-
if that was my radio, its a huge difference in what marks set up is vs the mild possibility mine might be..

Question...With a di pole deal...Does it matter which ant is NOT grounded/ attached to the metal of mount or do both have to be..
Shall i keep the 4 13" bond straps on my door hinges....13" was all i could find for now.. -
With a dipole antenna, the mount is electrically isolated from the truck. The antenna that points down is the reflector and is electrically connected to the bracket and the shielding on your coax.
The radiator, pointing up, is connected to the center conductor of the coax and is isolated from the bracket just like a normal vertical antenna setup. -
Ok..Im not gettin this...So the wilson mirror arm bracket is mounted as per normal
ant faceing up is as well but down has rubber seperateing it from mirror bracket...Correct?? -
The antenna ground system has to be completely isolated from the truck chassis. I don't know what a mirror bracket looks like on a Cascadia, but I would think it would be difficult trying to use one of those bird perch mounts because the bolts going through the bracket would constitute a connection to the truck body.
You'd have to use nylon sleeves through the bolt holes and nylon washers under the bolt heads to prevent a connection.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Mine isn't isolated... and it DOES make a difference vs using just the antenna.

Your bracket is DC grounded to the truck?
