How much downtime do some of you get OTR? Is it seldom or often? If you've got time, how do you get around to shop or site see etc?

I like the solitude, the ability to listen to podcasts all day every day, I like the scenery (when I was OTR), I like the "camping" in the truck & having my stuff with me. I like the challenge of getting a big truck & trailer in difficult places. I liked having my dog with me.

Try "missing Maura Murray" podcast. Man, it's captivated me for the last 5 years.

I generally drive between 9 and 11 hrs a day. That leaves quite a bit of free time. I also do long haul so I don't spend a lot of time sitting in docks.

I am finishing up a 34 in Amarillo as I type this, because I drove myself out of hours. Didn't do much this time, watched the World Series is about the only thing, but usually I try to find something interesting to do on a day off.

For example, last summer I did a 34 in Ontario California, rented a car, went to a Dodgers Game one night, and the beach the next day. Find years ago I did a 34 in Canton, OH, caught a cab to the Pro Football HOF. I will visit with old Army buddies and fsmily members around the country.

You find things to fill the the that interest you or you sit in the bunk hating life. I try my best to enjoy it.

Dave will have to answer the Where to the Tornado question, that's not one of my pictures, but generally you keep moving unless it looks like you are going to get hit, if so exit the vehicle and find a low spot in an open field to lie facedown in.

Some will Still tell you park under an overpass, do not, it becomes like a wind tunnel.

As for the three (top is a duplicate) I posted, the sunrise was over New Mexico, the lake is in Utah very near the Bonneville Salt Flats, and the bottom is exiting a Gypsum Mine about 15 miles outside Vegas.

I was in Portland Oregon and you can take city bus and train from the truck stop to the drag races they have. Try and have fun if you taking a 34 reset some place. I guess I just like traveling and see stuff and camping in the truck. When it's -10 and that diesel engine is only thing keeping you warm. I t sounds pretty nice to hear in just running. You can get a truck to Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory. Just go on a weekday
