One of the differences is that Stevens is pretty good at keeping their Alliance drivers rolling buy prioritizing them over Company drivers ...most of the time.
I had a newer truck and of course higher payments so every week I needed to drive about 1800 - 2000 miles to make the payment and insurance ....so that was about 3 full driving days if there were no sitting at Target or Walmarts or winds on I-80 in Montana... Or produce loads in California....or waiting on a Meat load in Kansas.
If you get any of those it going to be a short week for your bank account.....

They use that as a selling point, the reality is pretty different. They prioritize based on trainers and trainee teams. When it gets to solo drivers whoever can get the load there ges the load. At least that was my experience, and as a solo company driver with meat plants, produce, Walmart, and Target, I still averaged around 3,000 miles a week when I was there.
