Is it safe to run for a few days without the interaxle drive shaft? Obviously with the differential lock engaged the entire time.

The shaft itself must be rebuilt and it will take my drive line shop a day to get it done but about 2-3 days for me to swing thru.

I did this a few years ago in a company truck. Stakes are a little higher now that I'm the owner.

Let's see... run without and take a chance you will burn up your powerdivider, $3500 or more. Or wait for part and loose a few hundred $$$ revenue plus about $300 to $400 repair. Hmmmmmm what to do?

I wouldnt hesitate to run it like that.

Especially if you dont have jack shaft in place. You wont have the two diffs fighting each other on dry pavement.
    Itll be fine.

Believe it or not i know a guy with a t8 kenworth hauls tanker 8 axle. He drives with his interlock in all year long . He thinks its easier on diffs because it transfers the power out. Lol.
He has never had issues either..

I wouldnt recommend his ideas but to each there own..
