Congratulations, you've shot a pea shooter at junk cars. I've logged over 200 gun shoots over 2 years in the Navy. I've seen the ballistics testing for jhp rounds from 17hmr all the way up to the .500 s&w. Jhp were designed to prevent over penetrating. The fact of the master is, if someone is carrying for self defense, they should be responsible enough to train themselves with conceal carry courses level 2 and even level 3 courses. I do one of each every year. If someone is blindly shooting at someone and ain't hitting anything then that person would be charged got negligent discharge of a firearm. But if they are trainer correctly, they would usually hit their target Everytime. And if they were smart they would be using jhp rounds Everytime, not a full metal jacket.
Bring a gun while being over the road?

What I meant was, even .22 HP will easily go through a sleeper wall, and any larger round will have no trouble at all.
I agree with needing the training, I have got quite a bit of training, and that is exactly why I don't think shooting inside a sleeper, when surounded by things you will damage, is a smart idea.
It is kind of like shooting in an airplane or submarine... Lol
One thing I have learned in my training, is never to count on all of your rounds striking the desired target, that you always have to consider what is behind your target, because even the best shooter's under good conditions throw shots from time to time, and waking up groggy with sand in your eyes, on one elbow in the dark is no where close to good conditions for accuracy.
So even saying that you can count on every round striking the attacker under those circumstances tells me you lack the part of training that shows you your limits, especially under stress. (And you can expect to perform at about 50% under stress, much less when you have other factors such as grog and bad form to deal with)
And if you think you have the nerves of steel, and the sniper mentality, that you will ensure your shot before you take it, by then he has already lunged and stabbed you, or you have paniced and started fanning off rounds in his general direction... -

Are you trying to reduce the number of drivers on the road, so rates go up?
lol
HotH2o Thanks this. -
Do you know what a level 2 and level 3 shooting courses are? The stresses experienced in both of those courses are pretty intense. Level 2 course uses live rounds going through a mock up kill house. A level 3 course is using semiammo (live rounds with wax projectiles) and you go through a kill house in simulated situations like getting robbed at gun point/knife point, car jacking, ambushed/robbery in a store, mugging at an atm. They are designed to teach you muscle memory and to know what it's like. I've done one of each every year since 2008 even i got my conceal license. I've only passed 2 of them. It really sucks getting shot

I'm not saying that I would be perfect under every circumstance, but I've had enough training to know my confidence level is pretty high if presented in common situations. If there is someone behind a target, I doubt I would even draw, because if I'm going to draw then I'm pulling the trigger.

You should move to Camden, New Jersey. Guns are illegal there and it is very safe.tscottme Thanks this.

Just drive in Arizona, as long as you reside here, we can carry concealed without permit.
When your walking through a truck stop, through the trucks, that is by far when your most vulnerable just because there are so many corners, places to be concealed.
Believe me, the way you carry yourself, will actual invite a thug, or make one go " lets wait for the next one."
Even the speed at which you walk dictates.
It's just another example of leave yourself an out, and get the big picture.
But if you pull a gun on someone, that's assault with a deadly weapon. The guy you perceive to be a thug, is probably just some starving lease op from one of the mega's. In any event, your gonna wind up at the police station, and your load is gonna be late. Maybe you do some serious time, get the felony, violent felony at that
( AWD ), and then your truck driving career is over anyway, unless you have your own numbers.
Get a thumper. Get off your fat ###, and get your face on the ground and do some push ups.Ke6gwf Thanks this. -
Carry yourself correct and you won't have an issue.
This is a kubaton. Doesn't look like much, but it'll #### a face up.
MidWest_MacDaddy and Ke6gwf Thank this. -
I have a sweet slingshot that'll do some damage to a cardboard target I made. It's pretty accurate at 10-15 feet too, just sayin
Bob Dobalina Thanks this.
