En route to new job.

 

Find a goat to sacrifice just like I had to do.

 

Start orientation at a place in Little Rock called TLI. Dry van, Petes with auto and APU/inverter and fridge, mostly east of I-35. No NYC, mostly nothing northeast of PA. Veteran friendly. Wife can ride, as well as pooch (provided said pooch is under 25lb). Time off more or less at driver discretion. Basic trucking. Yard is all business, nothing fancy. I see Pete 587 and 579 units as well as a few 789 Volvo pieces, and even a couple Cascadia trucks (although I believe the Volvo units are reserved for teams). Trailers look like older Utility units with aero retrofits for CA runs (again mostly for teams; am told solos stay east of I-35 mostly)

 

Orientation is proceeding at a frenetic pace as they want us all in trucks Wednesday. The frenetic part is them making sure all the paperwork is order for everybody; I'm mostly twiddling my thumbs.

 

Lunch break. Somebody put HLN on (big TV in the conference room). All day election coverage. In a room full of truckers with wildly disparate backgrounds. What could possibly go wrong?
