Just put my DX 959 into my truck (05 International 9200). Radio was checked by a shop and sounds good on their setup. I have new coax running to a new Wilson 2000 antenna (not tuned yet). Also, have new Ranger Mic.

The issue I'm having is when I key the mic there is a fairly loud buzz. What might be the problem? Antenna not tuned? Bad ground? Something else?

I had that problem but on a cobra, my Dyna was too high, and the external speaker was playing a role in the issue. I turned back the Dyna, moved the speaker 6-8 inches farther away. No more problems.

I do not have the radio knowledge to tell you why or how it was happening. Just trial and error that fix it and asking around.

    RustyBolt Thanks this.

Nobody. The radio hasn't been hooked up in 4+ years. So, I took it in to the CB shop in Wytheville. The fella just hooked it into his system to see if it was working properly. Worked great. Sounded real good too. Nothing was opened or adjusted. Radio never left my sight either. Afterwards, I hooked it up in my truck. And it buzzed.

If it matters, power is coming from the hot post by the fuse panel. Ground is to the fuse panel frame.

I would try to test it in your personal car

I just figured out what the problem is. The problem is either the wiring to the external speaker or the speaker itself. Unplugged it and no buzz. So, will be investing in some new wiring and possibly a speaker in the near future. I'll start with wiring and see what that does. Both it, and the speaker, are original to the truck.

Try moving speaker further away as someone else suggested if you have it directly facing you you may try turning it so it is facing back of cab.
