Before anyone hears this crap - here are the facts - as I know them - and as they are posted on YRCW's website.

the sales teams have been streamlined - and the regional corporate services teams have been put under one roof.

we will maintain our brand identities (as posted 2 years ago)...

    nothing more - nothing less
    (period)

acording to the YRCW press release dated this morning.....

NOW... Bill Z just released a memo saying over the next 18 months that the companies will be one..

    wow - what a development....

Some guys are already freaking out about the possible dovetailing of both seniority boards.

If that happens - our bids will have to be reset and some new players will be on deck.

The yellow board in Cincy is about a dozen drivers. We (roadway) have about 150 - 165 drivers.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the 25 supervisors that are double redundant.

I wish all the drivers good luck in all this, sometimes changes in your place on the seniority list are the least of your troubles.

I agree, CornCob...seniority will be the least of their worries. Let's just say I would BET a lot of money that many, many WILL lose their jobs, period. Then, slyly, in time, they will do like Consolidated Freightways did...shut 'er down and move into a non-union outfit altogether like Consolidated Freightways did by moving into Con-Way. They were SLICK! Very well thought out on that one.

WiseOne, I remember when a company called Utilities International owned Pacific Intermountain Express (PIE), Ryder Truck Lines, Byrns Express and a few others. A lot of good paying line-haul and local union jobs were lost, when they folded.

I'll always remember a PIE driver in Gunnison CO at -20 hooking on a load of lumber. He got out a hundred yards and came back full throttle. Knocked the snow off the top of the load he did. PIE had some mountain trucks out w. Would pass us and we had 400 Cumins and 13 spd geared out 66 at 2150.

It does make you wonder a bit. It worked once, and the way business thinks, I wouldn't be surprised.
