ok it would be easy for me to do the dip-pole deal but what's the end result. what's in it for me...no one as of yet has said...better what....... enquiring minds want to know !!!!!!
-
well a answer would be nice without that it's a waste of my time.... and it's been a total waste being discussed on here ??????
-
on trucks with a less-than-perfect ground, it gives you full control over tuning your antenna system. You can tune the negative half of your antenna system which is something you cannot do if you utilize the body of the truck as a counterpoiseslim6596 Thanks this.
-
it kind of comes in handy for people that get a new truck every few months because once it's tuned you can switch it from truck to truck without having to retune it
slim6596 Thanks this. -
carry way too much crap to change trucks very often....does it matter what antenna you use ???will say a 3ft. fiberglass firestik do..????,
-
Depends on your amperage needs. if you're running an amplifier you need to make it beefier to handle the extra power
-
wait what huh your kidding right Craig's going to do this.. your serious how's it gonna help him he hasn't gotten his setup right the first time ...lol
-
beefier longer ???? man this sounds like work means I gotta get longer bolts for the bracket hunt down a antenna.. oh well they've gotta fix my crapcadia at the shop wed. or thurs. it'll give me something to do. thanks later
-
it is highly doubtful. that extension bracket needs to be isolated from the feed point so it does not make an electrical connection to the shield of your coaxial cable just like I described in this picture.
a 3-foot Firestik should work just fine as a counterpoise as long as you do not exceed the wattage rating for that particular antenna
