Just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal. I'm getting ready to send out a few applications, so to be on the safe side I ordered my DAC report. I used to drive a class B truck, and I have been drug tested numerous times, but my DAC and drug test history is empty. I expected to find at least a record of me having driven.
Got my DAC Report. It's empty even though I drove class B.

Dac is not the guberment, your mvr is. If your previous companies did not participate in dac, you have no dac
Mark_2wain Thanks this. -
What type trucking job do you want?
Mark_2wain Thanks this. -
Lol thanks.
Ahh ok. Weird, the company I drove for was a very large one. Thought for sure they would have used it. -
All that matters on dac, is nothing bad on it. No news is good news.

Honestly, I'm not sure yet. The company I'm eyeing has OTR, regional, and local options. The idea of OTR is very appealing to me because I want to see all of the states and maybe relocate, but regional and local wouldn't be bad because I grew up in NE traffic and it would allow for more home time. I'm based out of Virginia.

DAC/Hireright is only a tool. You are required per FMCSA regulations to provide up to a full 10 year CDL driving history. If your on the job market just know most places that hire Class A drivers don't put a lot of weight on Class B experience and because nothing is showing on your DAC might be contacting old employers for drug testing histories. Very soon this drug testing history thing will be rendered obsolete by the FMCSA when they get their MRO database up and running. When I see a member such as yourself with a low post count or a recent member and I see anything said about drug testing red flags go off. Only you know the full truth. Just know that if you have any positive drug tests even if they are not in DAC this in no way means you are in the clear. Almost all of the mega carriers and mid size companies use DAC and it would surprise you how many smaller carrier do as well. Even if there is no notation in DAC this in no way means a phone call can't be made to the office that handles drug testing histories about you. I have said this more then once in here and will say it again. FACEBOOK is quickly becoming more of a problem then DAC. I used the example of northwest Arkansas a while back. There are 4 companies there in close relationships. USA Truck, PAM JB HUNT and WSE. All 4 of these companies have safety, recruiting as well as HR people that used to work for other carriers and know people at others. I know for a 100% fact several people use FACEBOOK to ask about a driver history. For obvious reasons I can't name names but a megacarrier recently had a president to leave and go to another carrier. This person also took with them 2 people to help said person run the new company. I know and have been exchanging emails with one of these people. I had been asking about a job with them that did not involve driving as my epilepsy prohibits driving. This person said wait let me do some checking and later I found out a FACEBOOK request was made about me and why I recently was offered a job but had to decline as the job required me to be able to drive. I will make a prediction that within 3 to 5 years FACEBOOK will replace DAC as the principal place people go to get information about a driver. OP take a word of advice don't take that lack of information on DAC as anything more then what it is.123456 Thanks this.
