Well, if you hold this near the end of the rubber grip, it makes for a well balanced thumper for heads as well as tires. ;)

I have been told by numerous people that if you carry a bat in your truck, make sure there is no wrist strap on it as it'd be classed as a weapon rather than a tool.

My 3 cell Mag Lite came in handy on a persistent junkie at 3 am once on Columbus OH. Didn't actually have to use it on him, just the thought of getting whacked between the eyes was enough to send him on his way.

I've got a nifty tire thumper now with a collapsible pin puller in the handle. The head is a railroad spike. Hefty enough to deal with things that need to be banged on, light enough it's not overbalanced on the backswing. Probably intimidating AF in a defensive situation.

Quite a few drivers just stop showering. That's the best defense I've seen drivers implement.

Twice or was it three times? Anyhow. Calumet Chicago downtown, two thugs made a beeline for us Notches on the tire thumper and hot coffee took care of them. Splash one in the face clock number two and then hit number one behind the knees back to number two. this one required a hit on the head. I took a few hits with which there was a real fear a blade got me. Number one was a problem once the coffee hit him, he is like me, using the pain to rage and explode to really apply violence. Caught him with a open mouth yelling, shoved the stick into it. And that was that. Too bad too, missed his chinese windgate that is a triangle at the base of the throat.

Jackson TN, man tried to sexually assualt spouse in my cab with me in the bunk. Spouse broke a rule not to park where she did, but it's water under the bridge, she knows now. Hell of a way to learn. Man gets inside my cab, the way the #### thing tilted with him and her diving for the passenger side gave me the room I needed to swing the Kabar at his neck. Might have been a unholy mess. But that snake got out and probably did not touch the ground running so fast. Im glad I missed him once the blood calmed down.

Really large mad mad got hit by one of my pipes flying from the binder. Came up to my deck hands flexing the rub rails. It was intense and don't remember too much. When you get hit like that there are just too many stars to deal with. (Retina issues) I rather get hit by a thousand pipes than that one. Really no contest at all. That oh took about 3 weeks before I could put away some traffic in shifting without too much pain lol.

Never had to defend myself in 3 years OTR & 17 years dedicated. I think almost EVERYONE outside of this industry thinks it's likely & routine to have to fight off criminals often. Not true, except in Gary, IN.
