Looking for these winches

For it to get tight enough there must be some gear reduction

 

Worm gear reduction is used in boat winches, along with other applications, i think id be more worried about the longevity of the mechanism

 

I think I'm in love. They would be great on a conastoga. The extra 3 inches sticking out makes it difficult to tighten winches near the tires. But 80 bucks a pop? Think I just need to bend my winch bar.

 

This is what I picked up at Iowa 80 during my first step deck load.

I've got one. Its works good, i just always thought it was kind of a pain having to use it in those spots. It does work though, just not ideal for me. Some like them, some dont.

These winches are pricey, but man they look handy.

 

I read on the site that it gets to about 1500 lbs of force and they test it to last 10 years. Pretty impressive.

 

Whoowhee! That looks fing expensive. I guess, if I could get someone esle to pay for it...
