You accomplished your goal with TA, now time to move on. You did what it takes to get in the trucking workforce.

Man you just described the payroll department at Knight, back when I worked there. I hope they finally got it straightened out. BUT. I have a feeling that certain unnamed trucking companies hope that their drivers will never compare their pay stubs with the money they SHOULD be getting.

Got into Bristol in the early am. Caught a few hours sleep and then headed out to get my truck. Found out TA hasn't yet paid the bill and seems to be trying to wiggle out of paying it altogether. I was caught completely off guard by this and have come back to the hotel to contemplate whether or not to just clear out the truck and go home or to hold out to see if anything changes and maybe get a load back towards Olathe and quit on the yard. I'm worried that if I quit right now they will hang an abandonment on my DAC.

Weigh in y'all, I need advice,..

You're going to get a lot of advice to pack it in and just leave ... never burn your bridges. Quit the right way and leave on a positive note ... Get the truck to Olathe, thank them for the opportunity and tell them it's time for you to move on.

By all means do NOT abandon your truck. That is equivalent to the death sentence in trucking. Better to quit on the yard at Olathe. You know your time is short, save your career!

Wow man I don't know what to say. Never had a problem with them paying their bills. Only payroll problems I've had were thanks to me send in unreadable receipts. I have no idea what is going on.

Since I don't know your entire situation, I won't offer advice about staying or going.

But DO NOT quit under dispatch. Get the truck to the yard. I don't know if they would hit your DAC or not, but that will mess you up very badly at this time if they did. It's not worth it. Just get the truck back.

Big Don and Broke Down 69 Thank this.

    Do NOT abandon your truck!

How embarrassing to be assigned to pick up a truck and the company hasn't even paid the bill.

    Oy vey...

Secure another job and put in a weeks notice and be prepared to be fired. Have the new company to check your DAC before and after.

Line up another job with a verified orientation date NOW, turn in trk to approved location and tell them Peace Out. Nobody deserves the drama and hoops that you have had to jump thru to try to make a living with that Outfit. Clint Eastwood once said... A Man's Gotta Know His Limits !

Stay and complete the assignment, no matter what.
You can only make things worse by leaving in middle of the dispatch. That will follow you for a long time. EVEN if TA was to tell you we aren't paying for this work you are on, giving up that pay is better than abandonment on you DAC.

    Hick and gntorres61 Thank this.
