    Soap-boxers.
Then the crowd yells 'Get of the #### stage!' And i think their gullibility sinks in... and the head hangs in the full realization that they've been suckered and there are people out here who knew they were going to be... Like pigs to slaughter.

Lots of new drivers who are just coming into the industry aren't aware of the need to research a company. They're gullible, with the gleam in their eye, with visions of driving Shiny red trucks over the open road. They have it all figured out. I feel bad for them because they learn the hard way. They very quickly learn the brutal unforgiving truth about this industry. Then they become disenchanted.

Too bad so many of them learn about this forum after the fact.

I'm glad I never went with Western. Even more happy that Cr England turned me down when I first started thinking of getting into driving.

That was my experience. Almost ten years ago when I first tried to break into the industry, I inquired at one of those three week schools and got a hard sell on a promising career with Werner. My thought at the time was, they must be a good company, I see their trucks all the time. Luckily, I didn't go to that school or end up at a mega but some things are such common knowledge on here that its easy to forget most people aren't aware. Not to mention, its hard to maintain empathy when the same basic story gets posted eighty three times a day. Whatdaya do

You would be surprised. I did flatbed work, and never got hurt(except for a few aches and pains) until I grabbed a hot exhaust stack by mistake.:biggrin_2555:

Were you pulling a van? I have friends that did flatbed for them and did very well.
