So that must be where we all know you from. Maybe you should check your facts and if you don't like them, then maybe you should think about going down there and living with them!!!

    Have a good day. :biggrin_25519:

Ther aren't enough trucks in Mexico to make much of a dent in the American trucking industry. I would be more concerned about the illegals here getting a commercial drivers license and taking jobs that way.

Under NAFTA, Mexico was supposed to build scale houses, implement a DOT system that functioned and promoted safety.. (that actually worked) They was supposed to build rest areas for foreign trucks to park at (that would provide safety, lol like there would be anyhow)

Mexico has failed to follow threw on there agreement so AMERICA OWES THEM NOTHING.. Canadians on the other hand pretty much already had those in place and took little adjustment for them to comply..

Mexico simply wants another hand out from America to get there trucking industry up to date.. They want America to pay for it..

just last week they asked for 400 million dollars just to help fight their crime. Why should we pay for them to fight their crime? isn't that something they should be doing already? heck we already put half that country to work darn near and now they want more???

Back to the subject.. Mexico didnt follow threw on their agreement...

Yes and no, people forget that government has to be involved in Foreign trade becuase it has direct effect on "Foreign relation" that our government has to be involved with..

When talking about a "segment" they should be addresses as they come up.. Trucking program is now being addressed and for the most part Americans don't like it..

    Agreed, need facts..

America is tired of giving and giving and America does not want anymore illegals floating around on work permits or not.. end of discussion the program failed.. if it hurts America then it hurts America, at least it is what Americans want..........

Most if not all of the border brokerage companies would disappear.. Jobs lost.
American truck drivers would be replaced with lower wage Mexican drivers.. American jobs lost. A few more warehouse would be built for Mexican trucks to drop there trailers at, Mexicans will fill those newly created low wage warehouse jobs...

Seems like more of the old system at work here to me Ron.. bring in cheaper labor and ship more jobs out of America..

What about all the tax incentives our government will be giving these drivers? what about all the loans and grants they will be able to get from our government? is the balance really going to be for America? or is it going to help Mexico more? I am betting everything I have on this and say Mexico would be the winner of this program... If not then why are they fighting it so hard?

Judging by the participation rate of Mexican companies, they aren't in any great hurry to take over the world.

as an American citizen what happens when an illegal gets in a car accident with you?

By default they can sue you and you can't sue them. -happens all the time, you are liable no matter what.

The program we have right now with Mexico and Canada works well = why mess with it + no driver wants to go to Mexico - Canada is bad enough.

This proves my point about people not knowing any facts.

    Nice argument, wrong but nice.

None of the truck drivers from Mexico would be illegal aliens. Furthermore, every Mexican driver must have an insurance policy with a U.S. insurance carrier.

    Please remember...

It's been illegal to be in this country without proper paperwork for many many years.

A House and Senate vote on this...changes nothing. Without enforcement.
