Does private road time count?

    Even if it doesnt help you get a job, I would say take advantage of the offer, as it will help you feel more comfortable behind the wheel. If you have to go to a school then you will be one step ahead of the other students with the added training that your friend has provided to you. If you are able to get a job without going to school, then that is just a big bonus. Good luck and be safe.

    I wouldn't pass up a chance like that as long as it's all legal. I would even take it further and see if he'd go back on the road as your partner. It all depends on how old his truck is. You could get your CDL and have a job to gain your experience. After a year or two you'd be able to go anywhere.
