I am a new driver just finishing my CDL, and I am in the final stages of deciding on who to work for. What US carriers have the most trans-border Canadian freight? I travel frequently as a four wheeler into Canada and have always enjoyed it there, and would like to find a carrier that could give me a load there once in a while. I am close to choosing Roehl, but would like to get other's input.

    Thanks much.

It's not uncommon to see Swift or Werner in southern Ontario. I see Roehl up north sometimes.

I would imagine Schneider has a lot of opportunities to cross.

What kind of work are you planning on doing? And where are you located roughly? I load with tmc drivers quite a bit in southern ontario.

I am currently in Chicago, but will be going 100% OTR once I have my CDL. I will be doing a dry van to start and gain experience (maybe first 2 years or so), then trying different fleets (flatbed, tanks, etc)

Call some dry van companies and ask:
    Safer Transportation
    Sunset Logistics (www.sunsetus.com)
    Seward Motor Freight
    Fischer Trucking
    Halvor Lines
    Carter Express
    A.D. Transport Express
    Titan Transfer
    Transport America
    Nick Strimbu Inc.
Some of the above have a mix of trailers, but do have dry van.

I used to see a lot of different companies in Alberta and BC. Now it's mostly Swift... Knight on occasion.
