I have been out of trucking for about a year but am giving serious thought to returning to it. I have tanker, hazmat, doubles/triples endorsements. I got about a year and a half before I had to leave the road for personal reasons. I pulled reefer and dry van but may consider tankers. I have a list of some that I may apply to and if anyone here as any information on any of them, all input would be greatly appreciated.

    Reefer:
Rowland Transportation / Kennesaw Transportation / FFE
    Dry Van:
Transport America / Convenant / JB Hunt / ACT / Crete
    Tankers:
    A&R Logistics / Tidewater Transit
I am not sure if I would need a refresher course or would that be dependent upon which company I would go to.
Thanks again for any and all information.

If you've got a decent job at home and a woman who tolerates you - don't do it.

If you're solo and don't want to have a life - be my guest.

(note: My jadedness applies to OTR only.)

Trimac Transportation is good for tankers also. When you qualify for their Elite Fleet you can make over $100K.
A&R Logistics/Tidewater Transit are both good.
Superior-Carriers has a terminal in Augusta.
Also consider Danny Herman Trucking for dry van; they don't run Northeast.
South-East Carriers is also dry van and don't run Northeast.
Your reefer choices; not familiar with the first two, but FFE should be ok. Also Freymiller, Magnum Ltd., Abilene Motor Express hire drivers that have been off the road for awhile.

I do got both a job and woman at home, but the job pays crap. I made more driving than I do at this job. The woman, well, we have been married 21 years so she don't mind if I'm gone a bit. I am looking more regional than OTR.

    KillingTime Thanks this.

So Chinatown, while I was checking out the companies you listed earlier, I found a couple more. Can you enlighten me if you know anything about:
    Averitt Express
    Marten
    NFI
I found a little bit on Marten and they seem ok. Averitt seems alright but I can't find anything on NFI. Thanks again for any info from you or anyone else.

Don't know much about NFI other than they're headquartered in Vineland, NJ and seem to be all over the USA. From what I've been able to learn, it's an average company with many options.
Averitt is one of those "love it or hate it" companies. Probably has what you want for regional work. I wouldn't work there, but some people just love the company and their uniforms.
Marten has regional or OTR and is a pretty good company.

duck65, Rusty Trawler and esandja3 Thank this.
