No, that's never good.OK by me
Agree (you talking about getting into the ham band, or do you mean the "free" band as well when you say "break the rules"?)
Well almost, but no!
True
I don't really like talking to anybody on CB anymore unless it is to give directions or some other help. I enjoy putting a station together and getting it to perform at its peak, then I'm basically done having fun with it.
CB/10 meter question.

Glad I'm in the "Almost, but no" category Mike..
And as far as I'm concerned, as long as they're not on the 10 meter band, I don't care. The President McKinley I've had since high school has uppers and lowers, and can slide between the walls.. Been there, transmitted that. It's still one of my all time favorite rigs, mainly because I did most of the work to it when I worked in the local shop. -
Different strokes for different folks. I love playing with radios. Nothing better than getting a radio and performing your magic to it. I just finished putting a turbo echo board in a PC68LTW. Had a blast doing it and the radio now has some wild effects to it. I have an old Royce 1-625 I'm debating on if I want to re-cap or not. Have a few other radios as well. Bottom line is I have fun doing what I do. Hell I might even start my own business in radio repair and upgrades along the interstate once I retire in 6 yrs. lol
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Glad you got a sense of humor!
As I've said many times, I don't even get close to 10 meters. I respect the ham band and wouldn't go there unprovoked.
I don't have the knowledge you do to do that kind of work, but I would enjoy doing that more than talking on one. If you start a shop and I need a good tech, I'll keep you in mind! -
Yep, it's called a cell phone
-
Yeah single side band is reallly popular.
-
It's mostly the guys that have been doing this for a long time that are using sideband. It doesn't seem to be as popular with the younger generation nowadays. It is however the best way to talk all around the world with the least amount of effort. -
Disagree, the best way is to use the narrowest bandwidth and that isn't ssb.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

Cw doesn't count.
-
Yes it does but really don't assume that isn't possible to use other modes either.
