Our KWs have had them for years, you push DOWN on the turn signal lever and the headlights dim, momentarily.

Depends on the switch. the o7 kw I'm in now does that. The 09 Kws and Pete's didnt. Don't remember what the 05 kw had. But I was using the headlight switch in that one. And the 96 kw I drove had the old floor switch.

There are times when, if you're waiting for a signal to get back over, you'll be waiting a very long time. The OP's correct; as long as you wait for enough lead-time, any decent driver should know when it's safe to move back over, signal or not. That's not to say I don't appreciate a signal to get back over, I do. But it's not required, and it's true also that some of these drivers out here are a little too eager to signal, and do so as soon as you clear their bumper.

I intend to keep doing it, I've had way to many guys nearly take me out merging over to trust that "I know where my truck and trailer are." Line. Besides, I appreciate a quick blink to let me know the guy behind me is ready for me to come over, I don't need it; but it's nice.

And blinding them when you feel it's safe for them to come over will prevent them from coming over earlier? Not following the logic here.

This topic has been beaten to death but I'll never get why people continue to do something they know provides no real benefit to anyone yet upsets a lot of people.

That said, though I don't like it it's not that big a deal.
