That is what I train my drivers to follow. They don't always. I say that if the customer goes off with the car and hasn't paid, it's coming off your check because it would at least still be in our possession if he hadnt unloaded it and we'd have legal recourse.

I've heard others say a cop showed up and made the transporter give the owner the car too. Both are wrong because it's a civil matter and the officer can't do squat.
