Owner Ops, how are you working out your truck insurance running under someone's authority?
I'm not talking about leasing on, I mean just using their authority to run loads. How does it work?
I've searched for a 1/2 hour, but haven't found anything.

    Thanks
    Steve

I've had guys lease on and find their own loads. BUT everyone using my authority had a lease. Single trip or Continuous.
Anyone running under a certain Authority has to have all the required paperwork processed. Drug screen, MVR, etc. etc.

Thanks for the quick response xsetra.
May I ask what your percentage of load is? I hope that isn't asking too much.
So basically, people running under your authority pay their own insurance (which is cool),etc, and are just "paying" you to run under your authority? Do I understand that correctly? Sounds great to me.

    Thanks

    Thanks woolybully35us.
May I ask the percentage of the load you are getting? If I'm being too personal, please inform.

    Thanks Much.

I've leased onto two companies. You have to use the same cargo / liability insurance as the entity with the MC number. The one I used my own bobtail cause it was cheaper, but the cargo / liability have to be the same as the MC number.

Not sure how one run under someone else's authority and not be leased on. Can someone explain to me what trip leasing is? Isn't that a relic from regulated trucking prior to 1980 that doesn't even happen in this day and age? I'm leased to a company and they pay for the cargo and liability insurance. I pay for the bobtail/non-trucking liability.
