A freind of mine (equipment dealer) is asking me to move a damaged tanker from his lot to auction (20 miles),hes gonna provide me with RT tags for the move.
The trailer only have top damage and everything else works.
My question is it legal for me to move it?

Is the vehicle road-worthy? Are all the required parts; brakes, lights, tires, etc., in good condition and function correctly? Is anything going to fall off the vehicle and/or exists outside the legal dimensions for height, width and length? Is anything going to leak out of the tank?

If your answers are; yes, yes, no and no, then go with it. Basically, so long as the damage is cosmetic and does not affect the road-worthiness of the vehicle, nor will anything leak out, fall off or create any other hazard, it should be fine.

Is it a clean tank, you'll need a wash ticket
Dirty tank you'll need a last contained bol

yes sounds like it was a rollover and if so don't think they'd clean a damaged trailer.
But don't know if they could sell/auction a dirty tank either

I would just move it and make the gravy. It's only 20 miles. I suppose you are suppose to have a tank endorsement too. But you'll be fine as long as you look like you know what you are doing.

Of course it is legal. It is just illegal to load. Damage equipment gets moved every day.
