Yikes. That sounds completely unpredictable. Hope it works into a good situation. I can still pass my Army PT test, so I'm guessing I'll be at least okay with that. I'll keep looking for updates on your experiences with Prime. I've seen them on the road for years, but don't know much about them. Good luck.

They have had a shakey past. Seems like they have cleaned their act up some. I wanted to stay with flats and they are closer to me than the other co I was looking at. So I figured I could get home easier. They have a very nice yard and the owner has put a lot of money in it geared with drivers in mind. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, since I am new and we have to feel each other out.
From the get go tho, there has been a lot of confusion. Simple stuff like what classroom to be in and at what time. They passed out several different schedules. Nobody would know where we were suppose to be. When asked why someone was not in the right classroom at the right time. People started showing them the schedules and then they seen the differnce.
They gave out a test that we had a few days to complete. The study materials had different answers. Same tests, different study guides with conflicting answers. 1st impression of them and the building was wow! Then all the other stuff got me thinking what have I got myself into? They cost me some money sending me after a load that would have left me sitting for 5 days at the plant waiting on it. I got ticked off and deadheaded home for the holidays. Cost me about 260 bucks in fuel, but was no loads available, but I needed to get home to get some stuff for the truck. Plus if I am going to sit for 5 days and not make money it will be at the house.

Been speaking with a recruiter about driving for Maverick after i get my CDL.

What are thier trucks like size wise? I see that they use the mid-roof, does that cut down on space in the sleeper area? What do they have for driver convenience/comfort?

I briefly left them for a month and got a long nose pete. I had more room in my columbia at maverick. Lots more storage area. Mav has all the safety features. Lane departure, vorad, roll stability, wabco tire monitor system etc... I go back to mav this weekend.:biggrin_25520:

What is a lane departure? Never heard of that.

I know they are auto, how about an inverter, or APU?

Something else. How long does it normally take to secure a load? Tarp a load at a moderate pace?

If you don't have your turn signal on and are drifting out of your lane it will tell you. If you have your turn signal on and someone is in your blind spot it will tell you. The whole fleet is not auto some get 10 speeds just depends.

That will vary on the load and the driver.

I start cdl school Monday and am looking at driving with Maverick. Recruiter said they start at .35/mi. but do they get the miles to go with it? Is it the scam of high pay, low miles??

They will run you as much as you can run. They make money when you run, not when you sit. We do slow down some. I think they bump the newbies up to 38 cpm pretty quick and you top at 40. You will also get a sign on bonus after you are there 6 months I think.
