I have this shipment from NY to Florida Removed tracking number
It got picked up yesterday and in around 20 hours it moved only from NY to NJ. Does that seem right? Also from NY to NJ it took 4 hours. The estimated delivery is on Friday but with that movement rate it will take ages. so what do you think?
Does this Fedex Ground tracking route seems ok?

Just FYI remove the tracking number all we have to do I'd login and we can stop your delivery.....
CasanovaCruiser and d o g Thank this. -
Yep...seems right.
FedEx is HORRIBLE...and USPS is even worse. With USPS you'll actually see your package moving in the OPPOSITE direction of your house---can take 7 to 10 days to go 350 miles. It'll drive you insane.
Use UPS as often as the seller permits. UPS seem to have things figured out.
Pretty ridiculous when you can WALK to get your package quicker than FedEx or USPS can drive or fly it. -
I thought FEDEX was all about critical delivery guess they don't care as much as UPS does.
-
Don't worry about it.
I like FedEx for package delivery.
But long quit trying to figure out the movements.
I once ordered something from Amazon next day air and had it shipped to the Yard in Fargo.
First movement was
Reno to Memphis.
It got to destination when it was supposed to. -
Fedex Air all goes to Memphis, UPS air all goes to Louisville. Those are their huge sort facilities. Then out to destination. I have stopped using UPS and switched to Fedex. UPS had too many delayed packages. Overnight shouldn't take 6 days

Maybe FedEx and UPS should merge and just be FedUp.

What you need to realize is that when it 1st starts, it's slow.
I just experienced this the past week. I ordered a new laptop, shipped out of Atlanta going to Orlando......8 hours.
I was in Gallup , NM and I beat my package.
The reason was, a shipping label with tracking number was generated, but Fed X hadn't picked up the package. It took 3 days b4 they picked it up and it showed on the truck (picked up and in route).
Showed picked up from shipper on Wed pm. On truck and received in Orlando on Thursday. On local truck for door delivery Friday. Got it around noon Friday. I got to my delivery Friday a.m. in Orlando. FML -
The first day of a packages life in the system typically involves getting loaded onto a local truck, moving to a sort facility, unloaded, sorted, and re-loaded. So, yeah, 20 hrs to move NY to NJ is typical. However, then. *BAM!* the package all of a sudden appears half-way across the country in a day. That would be the line-haul portion of the trip. Then, it would show at your local sort facility late in the day or during the overnight hours of the day before delivery with delivery following.
New York to Florida is a three day transit time, so....you should be good to go.not4hire Thanks this.
