Looking for a new antenna

    A guy I knew in San Diego California used a 7 Foot piece of copper pipe on the roof of his F350 truck and he said the receive was vastly Superior to a stainless whip, although it wasn't practical to drive around town flexing the sheetmetal of his roof every time he hit a bump.

    I at one time thought about useing some copper pipe wrapped in a length of 102 in of wire and strech across the rear top part of my fairing..Got told it would be no good..

    the cb shop in wild wood fl.mesa I think it's called sells a copper based antenna.....he builds them himself. ..

    If you're talking about the Halo antenna it was manufactured by Jerry Cash in Canton Ohio.
    That's the same machine shop that made all my parts for my personal antennas.

    Speakin of antenna..Saw a vid of a fella driven a mack with a stryker ant on back of his day cab..Sez its to long with his 18 inch shaft or 10 i dont remember and whip maxed out but sez he is gettin a perfect swr..What kicks me in the nads is that his stryker 955 with stryker ant on BACK of his mack day cab is gettin 20 plus miles all the time...OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that burns my butt..

    Couldnt pick up my 2 7 ft skip shooters,shop was closed on sun when i went through
