Does anyone know of a place you can get a harness to switch over engines? I have a customer with a Freightliner Classic with a Cat (6NZ) in it that wants to put a DDEC 5 Detroit in it. The DDEC 5 is in a Freightliner Columbia.

Kustom Harness in Oregon or Mawk Industries in AZ. Give em a call and they will tell you everything you need to know and give you the right harness

Sometimes that can open up a family sized can of worms, switching from OEM to another mfgr. ..but those two harness makers will at least stand behind their products.

Case in point; Recently at a Cummins shop in Charlotte, NC I witnessed a 379 Pete dump truck with a highly noticeable skip. As I kidded with the young tech that was beating it to death around the lot, I asked him if he thought she had a dead hole.
He said no, the owner just swapped engines from a C13 Cat to a Cummins N-14 Celect Plus, but the wiring harness isn't compatible. Obviously.
