there are four words every married man needs to know. and when you've been married long enough you learn that you will say these words sooner or later and it is much easyer on you and her, the sooner you swallow your pride and utter these four words the sooner harmony will return. "Your right, I'm sorry" Practice when your alone, make it sound sincere, you can add words like Honey, or I love you, but those four are the key.

Since the OP was wimpy enough to have to ask the question, he does not deserve answers and needs to turn in his keys and man card, go to work selling makeup at the ladies counter in Walmart.

My wife road 2 years on the road with me. We were in the same situation. I had the stresses of the job but then also had to keep her safety and needs in mind. The biggest thing I will tell you is to have patience, as much as you can. I used to have my wife sit up front with me. Then one day she wasnt feeling well and didnt want to sit up front. Just wanted to stay in the sleeper and sleep. I had to drive, couldnt take service failure just cause she wasnt feeling good. I let her sleep. After that we realized better for her to stay back there at times and things got better. We all need alone time. I was happiest in drivers seat. She was happiest in sleeper. We could still talk and such. After that, when I needed her to spot for me etc she was more willing to.DDlighttruck, blairandgretchen and Midnightrider909 Thank this.

Wife and I had two rules.
1- If cranky, sit in pax set and be quiet and you will be treated with quiet until better.
2- if too cranky, sleeper and curtains until well.
Look up number one or two, choose. The Cab was the office and the sleeper the house.
Never leave or threaten to leave a spouse anywhere. Get a divorce if you feel that strongly.
Now if you are in a unhappy position of training a spouse... she has to listen. Both of your lives and those around you depend on it in mountain country. If she sees something and calls it out, act fast don't question the information. Sometimes Ive barked orders at her and she did well because the alternative was to see something get really screwed up.
At home? That tractor and trailer can burn for all we care. Poof. It's our home.
You will discover the limitations of spouse. For example wide open spaces of Nevada for 300 miles. Empty mind. Put her into the sleeper and finish her shift in addition to your own. You got a 14 hour drive time coming on. Smile and be happy logs be ######.
Sick spouse? Find safehaven and or a ER and stay there until doctors say he or she is well. We once lost 4 days at Plainview texas when she took sick, I suspect it was because of the meat plant. It would have been better to go somewhere else with cleaner air.
Do teach the spouse the ways of the prostitute and the parasite. More than likely spouse has never had to deal with such in life.
Two words usually resolves issues in the truckstop, "we're married."
Again making threats to leave someone behind is verboten. It's a no win.Dharok, blairandgretchen and Midnightrider909 Thank this.
