Just a quick note to let you all know that Redcoat made it home at 10 this evening. Got dropped off at the Just Diesel truck stop on I-380 which was only about 10 miles from where I'm camped. How cool was that???
He's had his food and a couple beers and now we're going to bed. I've found out some other stuff that was going on and will post it all tomorrow if I get a chance. We have a lot of catching up to do. Also tomorrow is payday and I need to sit down with him to see how many miles he got and how much he got paid for those who'd like to know.
Y'all take it easy!

How 'bout that?
Sounds like Covenant responds to communication.
Hmmmmmm
I had Redcoat pegged more as an English Ale kinda guy.
I've recently discovered some of the micro-breweries fares of amber and dark ales, and I gotta say, I didn't know what I was missin'.
They're GREAT, and what a smooth finish they have.
Don't hurry on our account.
The eagle screams?
Y'all take it easy too.
We'll be here when you're finished.
WELCOME HOME REDCOAT!:smt039

Questions about Covenant, since my husband can't get answers.
Why does it take a week to get a check stub?
How much is orientation pay, and when is it paid?
He has been with them a month, no orientation pay, and last week's stub came yesterday. He also didn't get paid yesterday, payroll said it was their error, they'd correct and he'd get that money next week!? Uh no....Your error, you fix it. So now on his time off, he is going to a Pilot to get his money. If he is charged a surcharge I will hit the roof! -
Also...perdiem good or bad?
-
Hmmmmmmm -----
Kinda sounds like they're having problems meeting payroll.
Ya reckon.

They are making payroll, his co-team driver got paid, but my husband did not, it was a payroll error on their end.
He just found out that he was paid for orientation, it comes across as Sign On Bonus on the first check.
They sent his pay to his commdata card so that he could access it this weekend and we could put it in our bank account.
The issue is that they don't seem to care that people have bills to pay. If it is their error they should do all they can to correct it, not tell people to wait 7 days for their paycheck. -
Good morning everybody. For the record, Redcoat likes Bud Light which they can't get over in England (only regular Bud).
Redcoat has dug out his Trip Information Sheets this morning and I've been kind of trying to figure out how his trainer has figured his mileage. He's written on the sheets loaded miles and empty miles and added them up. I'm figuring that if ANYthing is going to be accurate as far as paperwork, this aspect will be because if he shorts the mileage, he's cutting into his own paycheck.
With that being said, here are the numbers from Redcoat's trip sheets from August 31 to September 10. He didn't get the one for September 11 because the trip wasn't finished yet and so I will guestimate that one.
August 31 -- Garland, TX to Kansas City, MO to Ft. Worth, TX -- 1109 miles
September 2 -- Dallas, TX to City of Industry, CA -- 1395 miles
September 3 -- Los Angeles, CA to Austin, TX -- 1379 miles
September 5 -- Muskogee, OK to Red Bluff, CA (changed to Pomona, CA) -- 2062 mi
September 7 -- Pomona CA to Santa Fe Springs, CA -- 35 miles
September 8 -- City of Industry, CA to La Vergne, TN -- 1853 miles
September 10 -- Jackson, TN to Avon Lake, OH -- 630 miles
September 11 -- Avon Lake, OH to Iowa City, IA -- 534 miles (estimated using MapQuest because Rand McNalley mileage page was down)
Total miles equals 8997 times .14 per mile equals $1259.58 plus a few extra bucks for extra drops and a few extra hours of waiting at the shipper to be loaded ($9 per hour starting after 2 hours of waiting) Trainer gets .34 1/2 per mile so his adds up to $3103.96 for those of you looking to be a Covenant trainer.
Last week he got paid $196 (for orientation). Today he got paid $315 but he had taken a $100 advance so it probably should have been $415 after taxes. I'll have a better idea on how his pay got figured once I get his pay statements toward the end of next week. His pay statements go to my mom's house in Mississippi. I told her once she gets two of them to go ahead and send us our mail. He gets paid on Friday and she gets the statement the following Wednesday.
So there's the mileage update for the prospective Covenant newbies. Money update to come later. -
Say whaaat? I make more than that clown does per mile (and per week sometimes)...as a regional driver, and home on weekends.
No wonder he's running his truck like a team...instead of training your husband. Even CFI who I detest, paid their trainers (in the past) an extra .10 a mile when a student was on the truck...no teaming allowed. I was getting .47 a mile there myself as a trainer. -

Redcoat, I sent you a pm with 5 names of good and very good Covenant trainers. Hope that helps. Keep us posted. All the best to you and your husband.
Redcoat wife Thanks this.
