They keep sending messages to my QC

    Im thinking about doing it,

People who do it say they're usually home(in Dallas) pretty often and the pay is better than rookie OTR pay for swift

but what is it really like beloved?

Hows your backing? Can you handle yourself around major taffic? If the answer is no, then just stay where you most comfortable at. I am with 2 years of exp and still cant back for ####, thats why ill never do it.

I have filled in for Family Dollar a couple weeks. Seriously I would not do that work even for $100k a year

Just the work alone is what killed me. If you are a rookie then you are going to haver a hard time getting backed into each of those stores. They aint made for trucks.

    This is so funny.
If you are a young person that likes a lot of hands on effort, go for it.

Be aware that you won't make much more money for all that extra muscle.

Oh,well...It Sucks.Just being honest. You and one or two Dollar Store employees, making squat will unload hundreds of totes."Get a chain going". You get there and cars in the way, bums walking around. Some weird parking lots.80 foot rigs are an afterthought.Last time I tried it,they had a crazy manager and a young guy so stoned helping he could barely function. These positions are always open.Everyone quits.Just being honest

Going into a Arkansas Dollar Store of any kind stands for you to get robbed at gunpoint. Don't do it. You will also be backing across divided highways fighting hordes of cars willing to let you crush them for insurance bonus payout....

    Don't do it.

Never worked for swift. Have done loads like that. They are driver unload. Loads are usually 3500 cases that are floor loaded. You won't make much on miles. The pet stop pay is where you make it. The more stops on the load is more you make. If your not strong and fast at unloading. You won't make anything. It's really hard work. Very long hours. You will be tired every night. So going to sleep won't be a problem. Waking up will be. Most that do loads like that. Have 1 or 2 hand trucks one for you in the trailer and 1 for the stocker at the store. Mine I custom built with a folding extension rack. I could pickup a row at a time. When i was able to.

I tried it way back. For me it was not worth it, they have been bumping up the pay on unloads it seems around $150 for entire trailer then a real crappy mileage pay lower than Swifts OTR. It's not that hard once you get used to setting up the rollers quickly out your trailer. You just lift boxes off floor a couple feet and push it down the line often.

You don't unload every day, you do a few stores like 2-3 was what I had each load. Once you do a few locations you'll be going to them often and they can be small, but just line that rear trailer to their door at angle pretty close and bam. I'd do a day of unloads, next day pickup another load to take back to DC, then grab another store run for next day or following day. I did only a few days as a tryout.

I came back to DC one evening and said thanks for the tryout, got back on OTR fleet. So you can do a try out too. If the unload pay was 250 each trailer and mileage pay .55 cpm I wouldn't mind it. They do (or did) give extra pay for return pickups to D.C. which is unique, forget how much.
