Watkins Shepard or Cargo ?

Watkins is a good carrier, esp for a starter. If you're out of Conover , nc, you'll run a load of furniture mid-west or south then back haul whatever and go home.

You can make good money if you have 15-20 stops @$20/ stop and you run far enough out that you're getting at least 2000+ miles/ week.

If you're doing 4 stops in Ohio, your check won't look so nice unless you can get back to Conover and grab another multi stop load.

 

It's mostly a desolate Wasteland with a few towns built so people can eat and Gamble. Gotta love the sun though in the southern part. Its neighbors Arizona and Utah are much better 4 scenic beauty.

Ever taken US50 across to Reno? I picked it up North of Salina,Utah. Boring to many but I loved it... big change from growing up in Baltimore.

 

Watkins is a great place. They have been very good to me. My plan was to get my year and move to something better. But I'm still here. Gonna be hard to find something making the money I make with the home time I get and nobody bugging the snot out of me all the time.
