Does Max Mahan still haul sand for them? They had some nice equipment but didn't pay that well.

That is my understanding.....it's common to blend fresh with produced to lower costs to frac. Having his own supply will certainly reduce his costs. His line may be big enough where he doesn't need to blend. I know we pay landowners tons of money to build pits and drill water wells on their land.

I left Odessa a couple yrs ago. Search odessa if your felony free and drug free they will hire you. Housing is outrageous and lock your stuff up cause they will rob you blind.

I heard it's pretty bad in Midland/Odessa. I should think it a good idea to carry a concealed firearm if I venture that way.

Mongoose pays good, I think 26 hour but they said 50 hours a week roughly max.

If you go to North Dakota stick with production work (crude and production water hauling). Certain areas will keep you busy.

They were buying reclaimed water from the treatment plant in Midland to use as their frac water, but Midland couldn't keep up. The silos in Big Lake are finished. We've been filling them for the past few weeks. There's no railhead there as of yet, but rumor has it that they are looking to put a spur in. They are building more silos in Big Spring too. The silos are massive...bigger than US Silica's silos in Odessa. Each silo holds 230 truck loads of sand and there are 6 silos. Pioneer built them for 2 reasons. #1 is because they are ending their contract with Maalt at the end of this year, so they have to empty out their storage facilities that Maalt owns by then. And #2 is that Pioneer is wanting their sand closer to their AO instead of 200+ miles away in Brady/Voca. Anyways Pioneer has 5 frac crews running right now, and according to the fire sheet I looked at this morning, they have no intentions of slowing down over the next 5 months.

    Big Lake Storage:
Yes. That's who I drive for. I'm not quite sure what you mean by not paying well. They pay 30% of the load. That's not too shabby for a company driver. The last company I ran for only paid 20% of the load which I have found is about par for this area.

Odessa and Midland is not that bad of a town. If you feel you need too carry a concealed then the oil field in general is not for you. Also Halliburton is a great company. I'm going back asap when it booms. As a rookie I was making 2 grand plus a check. My co workers were making 5 to 7 grand a check with a years experience. Also you work 14 days. 7 days off. Couldn't beat that. Also benefits were great. I had mines set up too retire at 40. I miss it.

Heard they are hiring in Odessa but are very strict now about hours . So I'm just waiting it out unfortunately. Also Trump shouldn't decide how much income you provide for your family. Let no man, president Republican or Democrat decide your cash flow.

    Dharok and PhoenixOneNine Thank this.
