The pay has more to do with how many people are trying for each job than how much it costs to pay for a house & groceries. Some people are so happy to have nice weather they will work cheap.

Are you looking to pull dry van, reefer, flatbed, etc? That makes a difference.

Just talked to another driver at one of my stops in Commerce, he saw I was from AZ and asked me about property taxes. His just increased to over $4K this year, and where I live in Buckeye, my property taxes are about $1,400/year.
