Yeah there was a guy that pulled to goldsboro milling grossing 120k all the time that got banned from that mill. Too much weight like that will tear you stuff up like you said. Here in NC it's 90k out the field but generally get out in the high 90s.

Ok, 80,000 fine. 120,000? How much money does it pay to drag 120,000 to the elevator or mill? Is there a measurable difference? Does it matter? I hope one or two of you educate me. I know nothing about mill or elevator operations other than what import or export ops and those take trainloads that require a day to load.

Those operations are paid by the weight so the more weight each load the more revenue.

    That's actually a GOOD question x1Heavy..........

If its only paying a few hundred more- ITS NOT WORTH IT! The Stress on the equipment is out of this world!

Sure,If your just the driver- Yeah,It'll help on the paycheck...But as an owner- Forget it, It'll have to pay Nicely

It all depends on if the equipment is spec'd for the weight. I use to haul 164,000 lbs but we had 11 axles.

Driver is trying to cover his backside and save his job... fool tried to make a Uturn and when the rear left wheels slipped into the ditch the added binding on the trailer just twisted it like a pretzel.

If the pins failed, there might have been a popping noise but that would have been followed by a much bigger sound when the tandems slammed up against the rear of the trailer.

And as mentioned above, if there was an issue worth stopping for just stop... no need to make a freaking Uturn... LOL

Careless driver not watching his rears during a tight turn ... not always possible in the dark, so maybe we can cut him some slack if that were the case... LOL

and now we know what will happen to a Dry Box when under such a twisting bind.

Thanks for posting it... educational for sure.
