    Don't do it.

    Disgusting facilities.
    Rude customers.
Rude drivers. (Especially other truck drivers)
    Rude dispatchers
    Unappreciated on every level
    Crap food
Bad roads (that you must try and sleep on)
    Stressful traffic and construction everywhere
    DOT and govt interference
    Your wife's crap everywhere
You wake up to find your wife has been driving the wrong way for hours
One of the few jobs if you make an honest mistake, could land you in jail or in a law suit and ruin you.

And the worst part of trucking is.....

Can't speak to anything but sleep. as others have mentioned, it's very hard to sleep while bouncing down the road. fast asleep one moment, next moment your 2 feet off your bed becuase of a pothole.... that's the only reason I won't team. I just couldn't sleep.

Truck driving isnt the most richest or glamourest job.You need to give it a good solid year. Many quit long before that because of the pay, lack of miles. There are real good companies but you need to pay your dues so to speak first. But if you and your wife have a joint bank account I think you both. could make some decent money even with your first company.I would suggest shop around before picking the first company that hires you though.

Talk you out of it? Ok.

    Try:
No sleep for the last 3 days due to rough roads, crappy shippers, oil change and "mandatory safety training right in the middle of your 10.
    Plus:
    Wifey dear has PMS
    Plus:
You get stopped by a DOT for a light out that SOMEBODY should have pretripped and being the nice guy he is, he tears your rig down to the crank looking for additional violations. And finds some.
    Plus:
You dispatcher is calling every hour wanting to know what time your JIT load will hit the customer, despite you repowering another team truck a full day after their breakdown since said pinhead dispatcher "forgot" to get the load covered.
    Plus:
    Your pay is screwed up.

Yeah. Welcome to trucking. By the way, I actually had that day. And it was snowing like crazy.

Every job is a four letter word...work. Each has its challenges. These are just a few of the common ones in teaming.

Hubby and I are approaching 3 million miles. Trust me when I say that's not even a really bad day. Those you don't walk away from.

It is very hard to get along with someone 24 hours per day. Heck, most of the time in 24 hours I have at least 4 arguments with myself.

Old Dominion has their own schools . Depends on location . Yes OD would be a great choice.
Some advice , no matter what company , get a second mattress . Stacking them on the lower bunk really helps sleeping while moving . You are using the mattress as susp. One you have 6 inches of travel (max) . And if you bottom out its about like being punched in the ribs.
Say go for it ! With a good company you can make some great money.
