im not a new driver. my card expired in September, i made the mistake of going to concentra to renew and they gave me a two month card. two months are up and i went to a different concentra to renew. things were going good until they brought up the sleep study thing. the dr told me i was dqed because of neck/bmi and my blood pressure was way below the limit. the nurse that measured my neck did it wrong, i felt the tape sliding down. i protested to the dr, she still wouldnt pass me. I requested a refund which they did. got home did some research and found a dot certified chiropractor and went there the next morning. no sleep apnea/sleep study bs from the dr, he said everything was good and i needed to lose some weight. i got my one year card and was only $75. my question is will concentra's dq affect the one year card i just got from a dot certified dr? does dot accept the most current card? i faxed my new card and long form 15-20 minutes atfer i got it. just a little worried about concentra screwing me over.
medical card question

If you pass you passed. Next time be careful where you go. I go to a chiropractor dot that is thorough but fair. You don't want a jerk looking for a reason to fail you and ice ran into a few. Go figure, low paying job, high stress and every year or two leaves you worrying will you pass a dot exam. If you fail what do you do, not pay your bills??
flood Thanks this. -
thanks! I won't be going back to concentra ever again. i would like to file a complaint against them. i find it funny that a reject dr. can fully diagnose me just by taking one look at me and reading a generic question form. with the chiropractor, i had a face to face conversation about my medical history and a firm handshake when it was all done. I wish there were more doctors like that.

There is a chart doctors use, BMI index. Basically when someone gets fat and obese, it triggers a medical push against sleep apnea and you are judged to have it unless proven otherwise. A two month card is a niggardly way of doing business and should be stopped. Let's get you to a proper doctor and get that full 2 year card so you can de-stress and truck on.
Be do careful when you go to many doctors hunting a DOT medical card, it could be constructed as doctor shopping to get that valubale 2 year card and used against you. I have a regular doctor who can issue one without too much trouble provided he did not find anything in a ever growing list of bad things inside the body and mind. -
LOL, I remember when I jacked buddy of mine got "failed" for BMI (has like 10% bodyfat at best) he ripped that nurse into oblivion told her to get a caliper and measure his BMI correctly or he'd sue and go after her nurses license for being a lying (then about 10 minutes of crap I can't put here). Needless to say after she was in tears and 2 Dr's threatened with lawsuits for falsifying medical documents to feed their kickback scheme he left with a 2yr card. Overkill, but I think these places 100% deserve it.
OP: Take in more salt, it will help raise your BP. Have a friend who is regularly low and thats what she was told. -
I don't need to raise my blood pressure, was just saying it was below the limits and the wannabe doctor tried to push the sleep study bullcrap on me. i have reported them to the BBB
