Each are different, but when I used one, Qualcomm, it only gave you available hours left until 30, 14 hours or 11 hours of driving, whichever was closest.
-
Elogs?
The timer it shows is whichever is lowest. If you start your day with 3 hours left from 70, sitting still, the summary screen will show
8 available until the mandatory 30
11 available until the mandatory 10
14 available for the day
but the main timer will only show 3 hours available. This is what you would see while in motion.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Your question actually doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
70 hours is for 8 days. Each day the maximum you could drive would be 13.25, but that would depend on what you had done during the previous days. To get to the point of RECAP HOURS, you would have to be using hours from both Line 3 and Line 4, accumulating the time during the previous 7 days, and what is available on Day 8. Day 9 would gain back the hours you worked from Day 1 plus any available hours left from the 70 total you did not use in the previous 8 days.
Sounds like double talk, but once you get accustomed to how the hours come and go, it actually gets simple. -
Mine (Omnitracs) won't show me anything other then available current drive time while driving (the lesser of available 70, 11, 14 or 8 ) To see the rest of the numbers I have to park and view "Summary"
Rubberduckin, rocknroll81, 91B20H8 and 2 others Thank this. -
Bingo.
Too many variables to consider.
When are you driving?
Is the plan thru 0000?
How many did you burn before that?
What's the recap value?
What time zone are you in vs. what's the time zone of your Q-Comm?
It's a mess. You really gotta know what you're working with.otherhalftw Thanks this. -
I think I know what you're asking. If you've got recap hours coming up, they will become available at midnight of your E-log regardless of your duty status. So if you start your day with 4 hours left, but midnight happens before that, it is added to your current clock. There is no need to stop or anything.
Bakari742 Thanks this. -
Are you asking if you start at 11:30 pm with say 45 minutes left on your 70 & 1st day recap coming back will you get it at 12:00 am while driving ? If so, Qualcomm will while your driving
-
Check your log, your last 8th day will come up ready to go at midnight. If you are tracking Recap hours you already know what hours you get back on which day however many days ahead.

Why are all of you assuming he is asking about e-logs? If he is on e-logs, he wouldn't be asking....he's on paper and doesn't understand rollover hours.
