Hi,
I am finishing off my training, and have an assignment where I need to interview drivers. I figured that instead of asking around the truck stops, I would increase my sample pool a bit and ping the wisdom of the forum. If you could respond with your answers to the following questions, I would appreciate it.
I appreciate you taking a few minutes to give me your perspective. I'll consolidate these answers and put them together.
- What company do you work for?
- How long have you been with your company?
- What is one thing you like about working for that company?
- How long have you been a driver?
- What is the #1 thing you would change about the industry?
- What advice would you give someone entering the industry?
- What advice would you give an aspiring owner operator?
Thank you
Chris

You cannot substitute forum input for actual face to face with truckers in the truckstop, buy them coffee and listen to what they tell you.
With that said, I'll just summarize your list of questions by stating I got 30 years more or less in companies that are no longer with us all due to a variety of lawbreaking greedy motivation that buried them when the 1994 rules came along for the CDL and eventually really buried them.
Get through your first year or two, and never stop learning. What you learn today might not be used for a couple decades, but when something pops up where that filed knowledge applies use it.
Your first year is the most dangerous. You alone decide if you have a future or not.misterG Thanks this. -
