So a year ago and you just post it here today?
Nope... just the title is wrong... W/S did not steal from you. Contract issue for school reimbursement.
If you were not interested in litigation on this why even come on here with such a misleading title a year later????
Ways trucking companies steal your money.

I paid my way through CDL school at a local technical college. However, my tuition was reduced due to grants. Most of the recruiters that visited our class threw out the sign-on bonus as if it was the deal maker. I never trusted the sign-on bonus racket. I'm just sayin'.

If you were a cast member in Animal House you would be the one saying thank you sir may I have another. I have said all I'm going to say to you.

Which is why I am posting it here. For anybody reading this get the sign on bonus, tuition reimbursement, or any other promises in writing before you even attend orientation.Last edited: Dec 8, 2016

Sign on bonus ?? I thought it was School reimbursement?

Thanks, just fixed it.

That I can agree with... anything they promise get it in writing. If they decline after it is in writing seek legal advise.

I don't think suing your starter company is an auspicious start to a lucrative Trucking career. Watkins Shepard allowed us to do a 2 week orientation and handed us let's to a brand new truck to drive. Neither one of us had to go out separately with a "trainer" for 8 weeks and get paid a lame training wage. Most starter companies require this and horror stories abound on the truckers report. We were able to start racking up miles and making money imediately. I don't know if the company has changed since they were bought by Schneider but I totally recommend them for new drivers. Just don't expect them to reimburse you for your school.

What difference would the source of the money make? It comes out of your pocket whether you have to take a loan out or not. They misled you big time.Midnightrider909 Thanks this.

I'm trying to get mt mind wrapped around this one... They "steal" $7800 before you even start, and you still worked for them for a year? I'm not convinced they did anything wrong, depending on contract. That said, if you felt they should reimburse you and refused, why did you even stick around? Everything is on you at that point even if W&S clubs baby seals in their spare time, you were way more in the wrong for staying.
