Need to clarify for the folks that have never been up there. Packed snow is very smooth to drive on. In the summer that road has holes that can swallow a honda.

Sounds like a large part of the roads in the lower 48. Husbands truck sounds like a buckboard. The GW bridge has holes big enough to break springs.Dave_in_AZ, Ruthless, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this.

Im sorry to learn about the GWB. In my day they kept it NICE. But I guess raising all that toll money did nothing for it.JustinTrucker Thanks this.

I haven't been across the gw in almost ten years. Maybe longer. Think it was 33 bucks the last time i paid that toll. They still haven't fixed it?JustinTrucker Thanks this.

Its about a hundred bucks cash price now. They've improved it quite a bit. I don't go that way often either but I did last Saturday night going to Boston. The Bronx section of 95 still has a few coffee spillers.

$100 last year when I crossed it. Like taking candy from a baby right? Lotsa traffic for all the trouble too lol.

Thank u, I'm out of Colorado, but still in Wyoming. There is a lot of black ice here and I have just cleared the shop with a dot and A service. They do a great job at transwest. It took longer than I expected, but I feel good about my equipment making the trip all the way up there. Best wishes to everyone in this winter storm, just remember that getting there safe is key and don't worry about being a little late, cause almost everyone is in these conditionsDave_in_AZ, russellkanning, DUNE-T and 2 others Thank this.

Best of luck to you & safe travels

For us to run a team it means another owner operator has to be willing to get out of his truck and into another for driver pay only (about 20% of the billed amount). While the hop aboard driver doesn't rack up expenses on the fuel and maintenance side, the clock is still ticking on weekly fixed costs. Normally team runs are quick 2-4 day round trips.JustinTrucker and x1Heavy Thank this.

Ya in your situation it didn't make sense. The only way it would is if you had a retired family member that kept his cdl current. Add him to the insurance, spend a hundred bucks on a prehire drug test and roll.JustinTrucker Thanks this.
