I have never ran glass. I have no interest in that. I am in the US div, flat only no specialized. If I hear of complaints on the board it is from that div. Except for a few that seem to have a grudge out for mav in any div. I have talked to a lot of the glass haulers and they said they liked it, but if you search on here it seems to be a different outfit. They bought out snideys glass div. Maybe it is still run like snidey.

do the trucks have driver comforts, refrigerators, invertors, etc?
-
Notarps, is the US div. home most weekends? I'm trying to to Regional-Midwest, south, southeast. Don't know if US is diff. or not.
-
Yeah, most of their fleet gets home on weekends. I lost track, but think I got hung out about 4 times in just over a year. I had broke down a couple times, requested home time in another state a few times. To be honest with you no matter what div you are in they will bounce you to get a load. I got a buddy down south in GA. He is in the atl div and they bounce him up to chicago.

From what I understand, Maverick does not supply their trucks with fridges or cb's. I'm not sure about the inverter.
-
No you will have to supply. They do have cb antennas.
-
LMAO... you're joking right?

I would like to hear from any current drivers for them, as i am interested in the miles that are available. I am looking at applying for the specialized division... I think anyway... as it looks to run pretty much all 48 states (more miles), whereas the flatbed division is more regional (?). Also, I'm NOT a big dude at 5'10" and 160, and don't know if I would be able to handle the flatbed (tarps).
Have spent 2 months looking and comparing trucking companies, and there are so many bad ones out there for people just getting back out again like myself. Thought Roehl looked good and then started reading this past week about their drivers getting shorted miles big time... especially the experienced ones, like the company was wanting to force them out... they lost my respect there. I drove for Central Reefer 4 years ago and know what a nightmare that was... not repeating that mistake. Only 2 companies hiring in my area (Phx. AZ) with no recent exp. and that is Swift and Crete. Crete seems to have a good rep also, but the pay is much lower than Maverick, and I like the idea of running in a specialized division, smaller company, nice trucks and equipment, and want to move to the east coast anyway, so this could work out well.
Have been looking at union jobs also, but they are not very plentiful now, except in the Chicago area I am told. I'm more a Blue Ridge Mt. kinda guy myself... not big city.
If there is anyone who has information on the specialized division...and flatbed as well, and the student training program... also the type of stuff they haul with that specialty div. (I know it is more OTR than flatbed which I like), as well as miles one can expect... I thank you for any input and feedback.
Good luck to the others above me in this post as well... -
Go flatbed not specialized, specialized is kinda like the red headed step child of maverick
