That's pretty good the both of you passed their 10-day orientation right out of driving school. They sent half the guys in class home after failing a road test...usually the mountain test. Did you go to Missoula or Conover?

We didn't get the final word they were going to renege until we were two months into driving for them. So I guess you could say any amount that would have been due after that time wasn't lost since we did continue to work for them. But the thing is with two months experience you really can't go anywhere else. Whatever though this thread was supposed to be something entirely different. These companies screw us over right and left and all anybody wants to talk about is how I don't have a case against Watkins Shepard even though I was never even trying to build a case against Watkins Shepherd. I've gone on the record saying that my experience with them was mostly good. The fact is they promised to reimburse us for tuition and did not do it. I don't want legal advice I have no interest in talking to a lawyer. could somebody please put something on This Thread about how they got screwed over in some way by a different company question mark please please oh my God it's got to be a ton of horror stories out there. Or maybe I'm wrong maybe all these trucking companies always treat their employees with respect and honor all their promises. I must been living in some alternative reality.

Missoula. I thought the orientation was great. Kelby in Missoula really knows his stuff.

So am I. Most of the time newbies don't understand how to even sign the contract or that they are entitled to one before they sign to review it. They can ask questions or see proof of other agreements.

SO again if it is in the contract, then they are the ones who have to provide it, it is it not, then too bad.

He's still there? Haha, yeah he was pretty good. The other guy Rick was alright too if he's still there. Did they ever get around to paving that lot?

It was in the contract. The fact is they made up some b******* excuse after the fact claiming that since we had paid our own way through truck driving school they couldn't verify that we had actually paid it. I got a signed transcript from the registrar indicating that we had paid with credit cards. I got credit card records and bank statements indicating that it has come out of our account. It was totally documented to the T. The fact is they decided to welch on their bargain and it was more worth it for us to get the years worth of experience then to quit and hire a lawyer and probably lose anyway because their lawyer would have better than mine. As I said earlier in the USA you get all the justice you can afford. I really don't care though, We got our years worth of experience. It's their loss because if they hadn't done that to us we'd probably still be driving for them. 100% on-time record for delivery, no tickets, no accidents. Lawyers and courts suck. If you're not being treated right just slip out the back Jack and make a new plan. That's my philosophy as it is Paul Simon's.

In the winter when everything was frozen it wasn't as bad. I did my orientation in October and it was a mud pit. Did they convert all their trucks to electronic logs? I was paper and only a few of their trucks has e-logs.

I doubt I'd ever work for them again at least not as a company driver. It was fun while it lasted though.

IIRC Rick left soon after the DOT audit.

Actually it sounds like you left right before things began to improve. New trailers, new trucks, e-logs, a big raise. Things are wayyyy better now than back then. The Schneider thing, well... we'll just see how it goes. I have no complaints so far.
