The Ice IS the bridge.
Not everyone has what it takes to cross ice with a semi. I'll do it because Im deaf and can cross in peace.

Me? I would crank up some AC/DC with volume set to "STUN" and match your deafness.
And yes, I believe you are correct. The ice IS the bridge, at least to the delivery location we were given for the load offer.
But I am sure @ramblingman could hammer down through the 5 mph speed limit with no problems, right?x1Heavy, JustinTrucker and 1951 ford Thank this. -
The only ice you may have to cross would be on a private road owned by the oil company. And you won't criss it unless it's safe, they don't want any wrongful death lawsuits against them. There is no ice road trucking shenanigans from fairbanks to deadhorse. Oh, and a good chunk of that run has been paved. It was all gravel when i ran it.ramblingman, JustinTrucker and Lepton1 Thank this.

I will be arriving at the border of Canada tomorrow. There's lots of black ice in Wyoming, but that is behind me now... I will make it to Great Falls tonight. Maybe a little further. Here's my view earlier in Wyoming

Awesome! I hope that you'll get a chance to witness the aurora borealis at some point during your quest. They're one of the most amazing things to see and you'll be in prime country to see them!JustinTrucker, Brandonpdx, NavigatorWife and 2 others Thank this.

I haven't run the haul road since the Yukon River bridge was built. We crossed the Yukon on an ice bridge in those daysJustinTrucker, Brandonpdx, NavigatorWife and 1 other person Thank this.

Oh yeah, another piece of REALLY important advice...
MAKE SURE you have a spare door key on you at all times and/or easily accessible on the outside of the cab (i.e., under the hood). Getting locked out of your truck when you step out to pee in the far north at night when it's forty-below, you're 200 miles from civilization and you haven't seen another vehicle in the last six hours is no laughing matter. Two people froze to death here in the last two days; one in and one under their respective cars.Dave_in_AZ, dca, double yellow and 7 others Thank this.
