First time , a pick truck was park next to the dock I was assigned, though I could dock but slightly touched the mirror and cracked it. Second incident rush hour in the north east a four wheeler sideswiped passenger side of my trailer, never saw it, couple days later safety called me to get a statement from me, I was shocked that nobody flagged me or anything, the four wheeler took my trailer number. Third incident drove from Bakersfield CA to Boston MA 45500 Ib produces , load shifted in transit, did not noticed, arrived at the receiver try to open the door , could not, call for help, two gentlemen helped me to open both doors, scare to death , I did not chained up the driver side trailer door, so while backing to dock the door came flying and got stocked between the dock and the trailer, $355 damage to the trailer, paid the repair out my pocket and reported it to the company. Four incident, backing to park at the Pilot, slightly bumped to the truck behind me, brand new trailer , no damage , nothing ,the driver came out furious, call the Cop, even the cop was laughing at him, no ticket , no report, the cop simply said no reason to call police for that and left. I reported that to the company just in case. Drivers you have it.
Badmon Thanks this. -
FYI they did not fire me , I left for better pay, 3 weeks into that new gig, employment verification came back, new employer let me go because I did not disclose the incidents at the time of hire. So I am in market for new gig.
Badmon Thanks this. -
You should not have reported the third incident since you got it repaired it yourself.
As to the fourth incident, if there was no damage, you should
have simply denied you touched the guy and went on about your business. -

One day after backing in to a tight dock I opened my door to go in. The 15 year old Volvo with the duct taped mirrors touched as I exited my truck. The guy comes after me says what was I going to do about hitting his truck. I told him I would make his face look like his mirror if he didn't back up. He went back in his truck called the office. The owner told him he made a wise decision and hung up. By the time I got back outside a cop was there. Cop said to the guy point out the damage he said there was no damage but my door shouldn't have touched his mirror. Cop shook his head and left. Guy was still mumbling after I pulled out. mm hmm.
They all seem pretty minor but they add up to careless. You probably need to slow down a bit and think before you back.
You're in a mess of your own making though. Failing to disclose, smh. -
So just out of convenience hmmmKillingTime Thanks this.

See $25 a dock is an incredible value.
OP backing accidents are the result of laziness. People say it's poor decision making, the root of that is laziness.
When you tear the mirrors or someone's big chrome bumper off a nice Pete, and he tracks you down, or wastes no time, and whoops your ### properly right there on the spot, you'll start getting out and looking.TequilaSunrise, not4hire, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm a pretty good backer upper.
The other night I had to dock with Joe 280" wheel base next to me, and the fire main for the entire complex on my passenger fender.
Just before midnight & raining.
I was probably in and out of my truck 10 times for that one, soaked when finished.Badmon, not4hire, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this.
